NEWPORT, RI, July 30, 2009 -- The International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum has announced that kids 16 and under will receive free admission with a paid adult into the Hall of Fame Champions Cup Tournament, August 20-23 at the International Tennis Hall of Fame, Newport, Rhode Island.
On Saturday, August 22 the Hall of Fame Champions Cup will host KIDS DAY. A free junior tennis clinic conducted by Champions Cup Pros will run from 11:30am - 12:30pm on the legendary grass courts. The clinic is open to the first 100 kids ages 12 and under and will be followed by the Hall of Fame Champions Cup singles semifinal matchup at 1:00pm. There will be plenty of off court activities provided throughout the day, including an autograph session and face painting.
Since clinic space is limited, interested parties should call 866-914-FAME to reserve a spot. Participating children should wear sneakers and athletic clothing.
The 2009 Hall of Fame Champions Cup is one of eight stops on the Outback Champions Series. The tournament features eight champions, including two former World No.1 ranked Hall of Famers Jim Courier and Mats Wilander. The field also includes defending champion Pat Cash, along with Todd Martin, Mark Philippoussis, Wayne Ferreira, Jimmy Arias and Mikael Pernfors, all competing for $150,000 in prize money.
